This week, we are happy to shine the spotlight on more of our seniors at SGCHS. Today, the spotlight is on Maria Tronrud!
Maria Tronrud is very excited to be graduating high school, as are most seniors. Graduation coming up fast and a plan for after is crucial. At the moment, Maria is looking forward to going to criminal justice and law enforcement school after high school. One of Maria's many hobbies happens to be volunteering for the local fire department and working during her PIR with the ambulance barn and sheriff's office. Maria also enjoys reading and can often be found in the library. She also loves writing books. Maria isn’t too big into sports but does like to play soccer. A not a school sponsored sport at SGCHS and yet played by a select few.
When asked about favorite moments in high school, Maria said, “The band trip had to be one of my favorite moments in high school.” The first and second-semester band students were given the chance to visit Seattle Washington for a few days. Band has been her favorite subject throughout high school and she says is what she looks forward to going to every day at school.
As she looks to leave SGCHS in May, Maria pondered on the question of where she would go if she could go anywhere and responded, "probably to Italy with my mom.”
When asked if she was stranded on a deserted island, what she would bring? She responded, “a boat, a book, and some music.”
