Graduation is a time of celebration that every senior gets to experience. A room filled with family and friends.  Joy and excitement in the air. Walking across the stage and receiving your diploma with a handshake, and maybe even a hug. Loved one’s eyes filled with tears and everyone sending you off with the best wishes for your future career. Everything you've been dreaming of for the past 12 years. Finally, your big day is here. Senior year is one of the most exciting times of your high school career.

The class of 2020 was looking forward to all of those things, just like every other senior before them. Two months ago, we walked through the halls for the very last time, without even knowing. It took one day for the world to change. For our world to change. All of the things we were hoping and dreaming of these last years were stripped from us right in front of our eyes, and there was nothing we could do about it.

We followed guidelines with hopes of things getting better so we would have the chance to celebrate our day as we deserved. Covid-19 took away our special day. We will be looking at things differently this year. The class of 2020 has been through a lot, but we have stuck together. We have gained new members, and we have lost old ones. We have watched each other struggle, and we have watched each other succeed. Throughout it all, we have stuck together. We are strong, and this pandemic does not define us. We are fighters, and we together can conquer anything.

So, I can genuinely say I am proud to be a part of the Class of 2020. Now it's our time to take on the world. We will always be in it together. As one.
