On Wednesday, February 19, local FFA officers traveled to the Big Timber Grade School to talk with the 3rd grade classes about the agricultural organization. Officers explained their roles within the chapter, presented a slideshow of images, played pin the tail on the cow, and answered a variety of questions.
The Big Timber FFA officer team participated in this event in honor of National FFA Week. They believe it is extremely important to inform youth in the community about agriculture, and each year the chapter dedicates one day of FFA Week to engaging the elementary students. Chapter Vice President, Gracie Fleming, describes her experience: “It was super fun. The kids were super wild, but they enjoyed it the whole time. It’s definitely great to see them enjoying agriculture”.
As National FFA Week comes to a close, the Big Timber FFA chapter is heading towards an eventful spring season. They will be attending multiple competitions, hosting an annual banquet, planning community service activities, and interviewing members to fill the officer roles. Show your appreciation for this student organization by supporting them in all of their endeavors!
