Last week SGHS brought 5 teams to the State FFA Convention in Great Falls. The students had a chance to showcase their skills they have worked extremely hard on all year. It was an extremely successful week with FOUR of the five teams coming home as state champions!

For the Junior Ag Mechanics Show:
Coltyn Larue and Jaek Chulyak took 4th place in the Ag. Machinery Category for their Sled Deck.
Allyson Hitt placed 3rd in the Ag. Machinery Category for her Plasma Cutting Table.
Trae DeSaveur, William Donald, Morgan Anderson, Coltyn LaRue, Guildt Browning and Jake Chulyak placed 1st in the Livestock Equipment Category for their Artificial Insemination Box. In addition to 1st place, it won Grand Champion Overall Project at the show and the students won Grand Champion Showmanship for their presentation!
The Individual Competition results are as follows:

Star in Agribusiness: Jake Chulyak, State Winner.
Beef Entrepreneurship: Weston Sondeno, Silver ranking.
Equine Entrepreneurship Proficiency: Paige Wertheimer, Silver ranking.
Forestry Products and Processing Proficiency: Morgan Anderson, Bronze ranking.
National Chapter Awards:
Sierra Mauland filled out our application this year and received a Bronze ranking. We were awarded the Building Montana Communities 1st place award of $300 to help our endeavors to better our community.
State Degree Recipients: This year 187 students received the highest degree in our state. SGHS is proud to have six of those recipients.

Hello Herders! Most of the Junior class will be taking the ACTs on March 28th, 29th, or 30th beginning at 8:00 am. Students should have received an email informing them of which day they will be taking the exam, or if they will be completing the exam at the end of next month. If you are unsure of which day you will be testing, please see Ms. Stewart.

ATTENTION SPRING SPORTS ATHLETES AND PARENTS!
Due to the Girls Basketball team heading to the State Tournament this week, the Track and Golf coaches meetings have been rescheduled again.
Both sports will meet on Monday, March 13th at 6:00pm.
Track will be in the Cafeteria, Golf will be in the Library.
We apologize for all the schedule changes!


CONGRATULATIONS to the Girls Basketball team for placing 2nd at Divisionals over the weekend! This win qualifies them for the STATE Tournament for the 3rd time in the last 4 years.
The Lady Herders will take on Missoula Loyola on Thursday at 8:00pm at the Four Seasons Arena in Great Falls.
