Spring 2023 Adult Education classes are open for Registration!

Class #1: Kumihimo Jewelry Making
Instructor: Tali Snedigar
Dates: Wednesdays: March 1st, 8th, 15th, 22nd and 29th
Time: 5:00-6:30pm
Location: SGHS Library
Class Description: Tali Snedigar will be teaching a 5-week Kumihimo Jewelry making class. You will learn the Japanese braiding technique of Kumihimo. You'll learn how to set up, create a braid, and how to add beads to the braid. We will be making a Necklace/Bracelet set or a Necklace/Earring set. All of the materials needed will be provided. Bring a large pendant if you have one you'd like to use; there will be a limited selection of pendants to choose from. This class is limited to 10 people.
Cost: $25 (price includes all 5 classes)

Today is the start of the District Basketball Tournaments!!!
The Boys tip off against Jefferson today at 3:00pm. LET'S GO HERDERS!!
All games will be held at the Belgrade Special Events Center. Admissions prices are as follows:
$27 for an All-Session pass
$10/day for Adults
$7/day for students
All tickets/passes must be purchased at the gate.

HUGE CONGRATULATIONS to our Herder/Ranger Wrestling team for placing 10th at the Class A State Tournament over the weekend!
Trae DeSaveur placed 4th at 132lbs and Gage McGillvray placed 5th at 138lbs.

The Boys & Girls Basketball teams also wrapped up the regular season over the weekend. The Girls came out with wins against Red Lodge on Friday (73-63) and Manhattan on Saturday (46-36).
The District Tournament Brackets have been released. Stay tuned to find out when our Herders this weekend!
Here is the schedule for today's home basketball games against Manhattan:
C-Squad Boys- 1:00pm at the Civic Center
JV Girls- 1:00pm at the High School
C-Squad Girls- 2:30pm at the Civic Center
JV Boys- 2:30pm at the High School
Varsity Girls- 4:00pm at the High School
Varsity Boys- 5:30pm at the High School
Senior Honor Night festivities will take place after the Girls Varsity game and before warm ups for the Boys Varsity game.

Calling all Pep Band Alumni!
The SGHS Music Department would like to invite you to play with the Pep Band this Saturday, February 11th, at the home basketball games!
Anyone interested in playing is also invited to an optional rehearsal on Thursday, February 9th from 6:00-7:00pm.
Please arrive to the game on Saturday at 3:15pm and be ready to begin playing at 3:30pm.

Congratulations to the FFA Ag. Mechanics team that competed in Melstone yesterday!
The team placed 2nd with Jake Chulyak placing 1st individually.
The Boys and Girls basketball teams also earned wins over Whitehall last night. The boys won 65-40 and the girls won 59-36.

Congratulations on a BIG weekend for our Herders!
First, the Boys and Girls Basketball teams both picked up wins on Friday and Saturday.
vs. Joliet:
Boys won 49-33, Girls won 59-31.
vs. Jefferson:
Boys won 46-35, Girls won 64-44.
Wrestling had a great weekend at Divisionals placing 6th as a team. Six of our Herder wrestlers placed in the top 8 individually and qualified for the State Tournament this weekend.
At 132lbs, Trae DeSaveur placed 2nd and Ryal Carroccia placed 8th.
At 138lbs, Gage McGillvray placed 2nd and Colter Fleming placed 4th.
Taw Seemann placed 8th at 152lbs.
Zane Cox placed 5th at 205lbs.
Lastly, the FFA team had a fantastic showing at the Beef Breeder's Showcase Livestock Judging Contest in Miles City.
The team took 1st place overall with the following members placing individually:
Morgan Anderson tool 1st place overall and 1st place reasons.
Weston Sondeno took 5th place overall and 2nd place reasons.
Rylee Swartz placed 3rd for reasons.
David Paul Hathaway placed 6th overall.
Trevor Halverson placed 9th overall.

After communicating with the Sweet Grass County Sheriff’s Department it has been decided that due to the continuing extreme weather conditions SGHS will be cancelling classes and bus routes for Wednesday, February 1st.
