
Congratulations to the Speech & Drama and FFA Teams on a GREAT weekend of competition!
Speech & Drama hosted a meet here in Big Timber and took home 2nd place!
FFA competed at the Montana Ag Expo in Bozeman last Thursday, Friday and Saturday. There were over 1,800 kids participating.
The Ag Mechanics team placed 3rd with Jake Chulyak placing 7th individually.
The Farm Business Management team took 1st place with Emma Paugh placing 6th individually in the junior division. In the senior division, Jake Chulyak placed 1st and Zoey Aller placed 6th.
The Food Science team placed 3rd.
The Meat Evaluation team placed 2nd. Individually, Weston Sondeno placed 2nd, Guildy Browning placed 6th and Sierra Mauland placed 7th.
The Jr. Vet Science team placed 4th with Emma Paugh placing 7th individually. The Sr. Vet Science team placed 1st! Individually, Guildy Browning placed 1st and Weston Sondeno placed 8th.
The Sr. Quiz Bowl team placed 4th and the Ag Communications team places 7th with Sam Rooney placing 1st individually.
Other individual awards include: Ryal Carroccia who placed 8th in Jr. Livestock Evaluation, Trevor Halverson who placed 5th in Sr. Livestock Evaluation, and Weston Sondeno who placed 4th in Prepared Public Speaking.

Attention Fall Sports Families!
The Fall Sports Banquet will be on Monday, November 14th at 6:30pm at the Legion.
The Booster Club is providing meat for the meal and we are asking our sports families to provide the following:
Seniors= side dishes
Juniors= salads
Sophomores= desserts
Freshmen= drinks
Thank you all for a wonderful fall sports season! We look forward to celebrating with everyone on Monday!

Last week our qualifying FFA teams competed in the National Competition in Indianapolis. some HUGE CONGRATULATIONS are in order!!
The Livestock Team earned a Silver with the following team members placing individually:

Coulter Rein: Bronze
The ATMS Team earned Silver with the following individual placings:

The Meats Evaluation Team earned Gold and placed 9th in the nation!
Weston Sondeno earned a Gold and was on e of 6 students to win the Perfect ID Award.

We are proud of our FFA students for all the hard work they put in year-round! The team will be in action next at the John Deere Ag Expo in Bozeman on November 10th, 11th and 12th.


On Monday, November 14th at 6:30pm, SGHS will hold the Fall 2022 Sports Banquet at the American Legion.
Student-Athletes who competed in: Football, Volleyball, Cheerleading, Cross Country and Boys and Girls Soccer will be recognized and have their accomplishments from this season celebrated.
On Tuesday, November 15th at 6:30pm, students and parents who will be playing a winter sport will meet at the High School for their pre-season meeting with their coach.

The Herders advance and will play Whitehall today at 12:45 in the 3rd & 4th place match.

In addition to school hours, the SGHS weight room will now be open to the public from 6:30-8:30pm on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Please be sure to stop by the office during school hours to sign our agreement before working out for the first time.


The District Volleyball Tournament starts Thursday!
As a reminder, if students travel on the school sponsored Pep Bus it is a school related activity it does not count against their attendance. If they drive themselves or ride with others it will count against their absences, so have them sign up today to ride the Pep Bus!

Are you interested in learning how to drop your satellite or cable TV but still be able to watch the local news? Triangle Communications will be hosting a FREE How to Stream class on Tuesday, November 1st from 6:00-8:00pm in the SGHS Conference Room. Materials and equipment for the class will be provided. Attendees will learn how streaming works, devices you can use to stream online content as well as the different streaming services available. Triangle employees will be available to answer any other streaming related questions attendees may have. Don’t miss out on this FREE opportunity to learn the ins and outs of streaming. Registered participants will be entered into a drawing for a free streaming device.
