SCHEDULE UPDATE: The Divisional Softball tournament in Hardin has had a date change. The tournament will now be played on May 17-18. Good Luck to our softball players tomorrow and Wednesday!

Congratulations to the Track teams on a great showing at the District Meet last Friday. Huge Congratulations to the Girls Track team for winning the District 5B Championship!!! In the 100m, Alyssa Boshart placed 1st with a PR, Aley Aller placed 4th with a PR and Anaya Hope placed 6th with a PR. In the 200m, Aley Aller placed 1st with a PR and Anaya Hope placed 8th with a PR. In the 400m, Alyssa Boshart placed 1st, Aley Aller placed 2nd, Kameryn Ketcham placed 3rd, Emma Donald placed 7th and Ella Stosich placed 9th. Alyssa, Aley, Kameryn and Ella all PR’d. In the 800m, Natalie Wood placed 8th and Ella Stosich placed 10th. Natalie Wood placed 2nd in the 1600m. Anaya Hope and Paige Wertheimer placed 4th and 5th in the 100m hurdles. They both PR’d in that event. In the 300m hurdles Anaya Hope placed 4th and Paige Wertheimer placed 6th. They both PR’d in that event as well. The 4x100m relay team (Emily Cooley, Aley Aller, Bailey Finn and Anaya Hope) placed 1st. The 4x400m relay team (Paige Whalin, Camryn Niebur, Ella Stosich and Paige Wertheimer) placed 6th. Tommijo McGillvray placed 8th in the shot put. In the Javelin, Camryn Niebur placed 7th with a PR and Bailey Finn placed 8th. In the High Jump, Emily Cooley placed 1st, Kameryn Ketcham placed 2nd and Emma Donald placed 7th. In the Long Jump, Emily Cooley places 1st, Alyssa Boshart placed 5th, Bailey Finn placed 7th and Kameryn Ketcham placed 10th. In the Triple Jump, Emily Cooley placed 1st with a PR, Kameryn Ketcham placed 5th and Paige Whalin placed 8th with a PR. On the boys side, the Herders placed 5th. Gage McGillvray placed 9th in both the 100m and the 200m. In the 400m, Gage McGillvray placed 3rd and Colter Fleming placed 6th. Taw Seemann placed 10th in the 800m with a PR. In the 110m hurdles, Caleb Stosich placed 6th, Cole Ferguson placed 7th and Colter Fleming placed 9th. All three PR’d the event. In the 300m hurdles, Caleb Stosich placed 6th with a PR and Colter Fleming placed 10th. The 4x100m relay team (Sage Nation, Kuirt Gullings, Trevor Mosness and Gage McGillvray placed 3rd. The 4x400m relay team (Colter Fleming, Kuirt Gullings, Caleb Stosich and Gage McGillvray) placed 4th. In the Shot Put, Rory Lannen placed 4th with a PR and Ty Cowell placed 8th. In the Discus, Sage Nation placed 4th, Rory Lannen placed 7th and Kade Gardiner placed 9th. In the High Jump, Trevor Mosness placed 5th and Kuirt Gullings placed 7th. Sage Nation placed 8th in the Javelin with a PR. Trevor Mosness placed 7th in the Long Jump and 3rd in the Triple Jump. Congratulations and we’ll done to all our Herders!!

Good Luck to the Track and Softball teams today! Track is in Belgrade at the District track meet and Softball is playing in the Butte Tournament today and tomorrow. Here we go Herders!!

Be sure to join us today for our spring Pops Concert! Matinee performance is at 1:00pm and the evening performance is at 7:00pm. Both will be at the Civic Center. We hope to see you all there!

Huge Congratulations to the Girls Golf team for placing 3rd at Divisionals yesterday! Abby Laverell, RaeAnna King, Adelyn Tronrud and Ona Larson will be representing the Herders at the State Golf tournament next week (5/16-5/18) in Fairmont. Also Congratulations to Abby Laverell and Adelyn Tronrud for placing in the Top 15 as individuals! They will be competing with the team and as individuals at state. Way to go Ladies!!

SGHS is very happy to be working with the Crazy Mountain Stockgrowers to provide a presentation on mental health to our community! Tomorrow (May 10th) at 9:30am and again at 6:00pm in the SGHS Gym, Stuart Ellis-Myers will be here to talk about different challenges associated with mental health and how we as a community can work together and make a positive difference in this area. Thank you to the Crazy Mountain Stockgrowers for funding and organizing this event! We hope to see as many people as possible in our gym tomorrow!

Congratulations to the Boys & Girls Track teams that competed at the Stillwater Meet in Laurel on Saturday. The girls team placed 7th. Aley Aller placed 8th in the 100m and 2nd in the 200m. In the 400m, Aley Aller placed 7th and Kameryn Ketcham placed 8th with a PR. Natalie Wood placed 2nd in the 800m and 1st in the 3200m. Kameryn Ketcham placed 4th in both the high jump and the triple jump. The boys team placed 10th. Gage McGillvray placed 3rd in the 200m and 5th in the 400m. In the 110m hurdles, Cole Ferguson placed 5th with a PR and Caleb Stosich placed 6th. In the 300m hurdles, Colter Fleming placed 9th with a PR and Caleb Stosich placed 10th with a PR. Rory Lannen placed 7th in the shot put and 4th in the discus with a PR. Trevor Mosness placed 4th in the high jump with a PR and 9th in the triple jump. Softball also got the win against Lockwood on Saturday 14-4. Way to go Herders!!

Congratulations to our student-athletes who qualified for and participated in the Midland Roundtable Top 10 Track meet yesterday. Athletes from all classes who currently have times in the top 10 of the state competed in this meet. Alyssa Boshart placed 3rd in the 100m, 4th in the 200m and 2nd in the 300m hurdles with a PR. Kameryn Ketcham placed 8th in the 800m and qualified for state in that event. Natalie Wood placed 4th in the 1600m and 5th in the 3200m. Emily Cooley placed 4th in the high jump and 6th in the long jump. The 4x100m relay team (Emily Cooley, Aley Aller, Bailey Finn and Alyssa Boshart) placed 7th. The 4x400m relay team (Aley Aller, Kameryn Ketcham, Natalie Wood and Alyssa Boshart) placed 9th. Nice work!! Last night we had the honor of hosting the 2022 National Honor Society Induction ceremony. Thank you to Cindy Bainter for cooking and catering the event. Congratulations to our newly inducted National Honor Society members! We are proud of the work you have put forth in the classroom, in extra-curriculars, and for being great ambassadors to SGHS!

Congratulations to the softball team for their 18-17 walk-off win over Manhattan yesterday! Way to go Herders!!

This morning Sam Rooney and Kaitlyn Shook went around the school delivering these goodie bags they made to all our teachers to show their appreciation for what they do day in and day out. Thank you Sam and Kaitlyn for your kindness and generosity! And thank you to all of our teachers for fostering an environment that makes unprompted acts of kindness like this possible!
