2022-2023 Student Athletes:
Don't forget to come by the High School Gym next Wednesday, August 3rd at 5:00pm and get your sports physical done before the start of the school year. All athletes must have a completed physical before they can practice.
Please bring $40 cash. Physicals are valid for the entire school year.
Thank you to the PMC for conducting physicals and donating all money collected back to SGHS athletics!!

Attention SGHS Student-Athletes!
The PMC will be at the High School on Wednesday, August 3rd at 5:00pm to conduct sports physicals for the upcoming school year.
The cost for the physicals will be $40 (must pay in cash).
No appointments are needed. As a reminder, all athletes MUST have a completed sports physical before they can participate in any school sport.
We look forward to seeing our student-athletes on August 3rd!


REMINDER:
There will be a yearbook pick-up BBQ at the Lions Club Park this evening from 5:00-6:30pm for anyone who ordered a 2021-2022 yearbook or for anyone who is still wanting to purchase one.
If you are purchasing a yearbook, they are $45 and must be paid for in exact cash or check.
If you are unable to make it to the BBQ tonight and pick up your yearbook, you may pick it up at the office starting next week. Office hours are: 9:00am-12:00pm Monday-Thursday.

Attention SGHS Students!
The 2021-2022 yearbooks have arrived!!!
There will be a yearbook pick-up party this Thursday (7/21) from 5:00-6:30pm at the Lions Club Park. If you would like to purchase a yearbook, there will be some for sale for $45 (check or exact cash only).
Be sure to come to the park this Thursday to pick up your yearbook, enjoy some BBQ and hang out with your classmates. We look forward to seeing you there!

As summer moves along and we are getting closer to the new school year, here are a few important dates to mark down in your calendars:
Tuesday, August 9th at 7:00pm in the SGHS Gym- ALL SPORTS/ACTIVITIES MEETING
This meeting will be for any student (and at least one parent) who is considering participating in a sport or activity of any season during the 2022-2023 school year.
Thursday, August 12th- FIRST DAY OF FALL SPORTS PRACTICES
Check with your coaches for your practice schedule.
Monday, August 15th & Tuesday, August 16th from 8:00am-4:00pm- STUDENT REGISTRATION
See the front office to pay student fees, get locker assignments, sort out class schedules, etc.
Wednesday, August 24th- FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL

REMINDER:
The High School Gym, Weight Room and the Civic Center will be CLOSED starting Thursday, July 14th.
The High School Weight Room will re-open on Monday, July 25th.
The High School Gym and Civic Center will re-open on August 1st.

Good Morning Herders!
We hope everyone had a happy, safe and fun Independence Day!
Now that we are into the month of July, our maintenance crew will be working on the annual resurfacing of our gym floors both at the High School and the Civic Center.
The SGHS Gym as well as the Civic Center will be CLOSED from July 14th to August 1st. The SGHS Weight Room will be re-open on July 25th.
We appreciate everyone's understanding as we take the time to maintain our flooring and prepare for the 2022-2023 school year and sports seasons.

It has been a busy and exciting few weeks over at SGHS. Check out our new bleachers!!
We can't wait to show them off to all our community members and guests once our sports and activities begin!


Our bleachers weren't the only exciting thing to happen so far this summer. Thanks to a very generous donation from Oie Motor Company, we were able to fully upgrade our Herder mascot!
We are so excited to have this mascot suit to further show our Herder Pride and allow our students the opportunity to bring even more excitement and energy to our school events. Thank you Oie Motors! We cannot wait to see our Herder in action!

Congratulations to Coach Jen Wood on being named the Montana Coaches Association Class B Coach of the year for Track & Field!
This is the second year in a row that Coach Wood has received this honor and we couldn't be more proud to have her as a part of the Herder family.

HUGE CONGRATULATIONS to the Girls Track team for repeating as STATE CHAMPIONS! We are so proud of our Herder athletes and coaches and congratulate you all on a fantastic season!
Results from the State Meet in Great Falls:
For the Boys-
Caleb Stosich had a great weekend placing 7th in the 100m hurdles and 6th in the 300m hurdles. He recorded personal bests in both events.
Trevor Mosness also recorded personal bests in his jumping events over the weekend. He placed 7th in the high jump and 8th in the triple jump.
The Boys 4x100m relay team ran the best they have all season but narrowly missed out on the final race.
We are proud of all of our Boys Track athletes for the successes they have had this season!
For the Girls-
In the 100m, Alyssa Boshart placed 1st and Emily Cooley placed 9th.
In the 200m, Alyssa Boshart placed 2nd and Aley Aller placed 6th.
In the 400m, Alyssa Boshart placed 1st with a PR, Aley Aller placed 7th and Kameryn Ketcham placed 9th with a PR.
In the 800m, Kameryn Ketcham placed 4th with a PR, and Natalie Wood placed 6th with a PR.
Natalie Wood placed 2nd in the 1600m with a PR and 3rd in the 3200m.
Alyssa Boshart placed 1st in the 300m hurdles with a PR.
The Girls 4x100m relay team (Emily Cooley, Aley Aller, Bailey Finn, Alyssa Boshart) placed 3rd.
The Girls 4x400m relay team (Aley Aller, Anaya Hope, Natalie Wood, Kameryn Ketcham) placed 2nd.
Emily Cooley took 2nd in the high jump and Kameryn Ketcham took 10th.
Emily Cooley placed 1st in both the long jump and triple jump. She recorded a personal best in the triple jump.
