Good Luck to the Track and Softball teams as they begin their competitions at the State Tournament today!
Track will head up to Great Falls around 10:00am and Softball plays their first game of the tournament at 11:00am against Lewistown.

Attention Fall 2022 Football players and parents-
there will be a meeting at the SGHS football field (in the gym if inclement weather) at 6:30pm on Thursday, June 2nd. Please plan on attending if you are going out for football in the fall. The meeting will be with coaches, student-athletes and parents. We look forward to seeing everyone there!

Huge Congratulations to the Girls Track team for winning the Southern B Divisional Championship last Friday!
Also, Congratulations to the five boys who qualified for the State Meet as well!
Divisional Track Results:
Caleb Stosich placed 7th in both the 110m and 300m hurdles. He PR'd in both events.
The 4x100m relay team (Sage Nation, Kuirt Gullings, Trevor Mosness and Gage McGillvray) placed 5th.
The 4x400m relay team (Colter Fleming, Kuirt Gullings, Caleb Stosich, Gage McGillvray) placed 10th.
Rory Lannen placed 9th in the shot put.
Sage Nation placed 9th in the discus.
Trevor Mosness placed 4th in the high jump with a PR and 5th in the triple jump.
In the 100m, Alyssa Boshart placed 1st and Emily Cooley placed 4th.
In the 200m, Alyssa Boshart placed 1st and Aley Aller placed 6th.
In the 400m, Alyssa Boshart placed 2nd, Aley Aller placed 4th and Kameryn Ketcham placed 6th with a PR.
In the 800m, Natalie Wood placed 2nd with a PR an Kameryn Ketcham placed 3rd.
Natalie Wood placed 1st in the 3200m with a PR and a NEW SCHOOL RECORD!
The 4x100m relay team (Emily Cooley, Aley Aller, Bailey Finn, Alyssa Boshart) placed 1st.
The 4x400m relay team (Aley Aller, Camryn Niebur, Natalie Wood, Anaya Hope) placed 8th.
In the high jump, Emily Cooley placed 1st and Kameryn Ketcham placed 6th.
Emily Cooley also placed 1st in the long jump and triple jump. She PRd in both events.

It was a bittersweet lunch hour as we gathered to celebrate Mrs. Cindy Bainter and send her off on a well-deserved retirement.
Over the last 23 years, Cindy has worked so hard to provide delicious and nutritious meals to all of our students K-12. She has gone above and beyond in her duties as head cook to make breakfast and lunch something for our students and staff to look forward to every day. She has also served as a class sponsor for the class of 2022 for the last four years.
Cindy has been an integral part in our partnership with the Crazy Peak Cattle Women to provide local beef for school meals for the last several years. This year she was also awarded with a certificate of appreciation from the Montana Office of Public Instruction for her years of food service and her dedication to fulfilling the goals of school nutrition.
We cannot express how much we will miss seeing Cindy day in and day out and we wish her all the happiness in her retirement!
Congratulations to the Softball team on a 3rd place finish at Divisionals!
After losing to Laurel in the opening round, the Herders/Rangers rallied to beat Lockwood 5-2 and then Hardin 7-6 in extra innings.
The team will play in the State Tournament in Hamilton from May 26-28.
Well done and best of luck ladies!!!

The Divisional Softball tournament in Hardin has had a date change. The tournament will now be played on May 17-18.

On the boys side, the Herders placed 5th.

Huge Congratulations to the Girls Golf team for placing 3rd at Divisionals yesterday!
Abby Laverell, RaeAnna King, Adelyn Tronrud and Ona Larson will be representing the Herders at the State Golf tournament next week (5/16-5/18) in Fairmont.
Also Congratulations to Abby Laverell and Adelyn Tronrud for placing in the Top 15 as individuals! They will be competing with the team and as individuals at state.

The girls team placed 7th.

SGHS is very happy to be working with the Crazy Mountain Stockgrowers to provide a presentation on mental health to our community!
Tomorrow (May 10th) at 9:30am and again at 6:00pm in the SGHS Gym, Stuart Ellis-Myers will be here to talk about different challenges associated with mental health and how we as a community can work together and make a positive difference in this area.
Thank you to the Crazy Mountain Stockgrowers for funding and organizing this event! We hope to see as many people as possible in our gym tomorrow!
