We hope everyone is enjoying time with their families during the Easter Break!
Don't forget to mark your calendars for the All Sports Banquet on April 29th upstairs at the Legion. The banquet will start at 6:00pm.
We have had a fantastic year of Herder sports and look forward to celebrating all of our student-athletes' wonderful accomplishments during the 2021-2022 sports year.

ATTENTION:
Due to the forecasted weather the School Board meeting scheduled for this evening has been postponed and rescheduled for next Tuesday, April 19th at 6:00pm in the SGHS Library.
As a reminder, school will be out for Easter Break starting Wednesday, April 13th (tomorrow) at 1:30pm and will resume next Tuesday, April 19th.
All Adult Ed. classes scheduled to take place over the break will resume on Tuesday (4/19) as well.

Congratulations to our Track and Softball athletes who braved cold and very windy conditions in their competitions this weekend!
JV and Varsity Softball were at the Lewistown Tournament on Friday and Saturday. Varsity posted a 3-1 record on the weekend and JV went 2-0. Combined, both teams scored 70 runs over the 6 games they played!
Track competed at the Joliet/Park City Invite where, due to the high winds, PRs were very difficult to get and a rarity for all athletes who were there.
Gage McGillvray placed 4th in the 200m.
Caleb Stosich placed 6th in the 200m and 4th in the long jump with a PR.
Colter Fleming placed 2nd in the 400m with a PR.
The boys 4x100m relay team (Sage Nation, Kuirt Gullings, Colter Fleming & Gage McGillvray) placed 4th
The boys 4x400m relay team (Colter Fleming, Kuirt Gullings, Caleb Stosich & Gage McGillvray) placed 1st with a great last 20m from Gage McGillvray which propelled the team from 4th to 1st.
Ty Cowell placed 6th in the shot put with a PR.
Sage Nation placed 2nd in the discus with a PR.
Rory Lannen placed 6th in the discus.
Alyssa Boshart placed 1st in the 100m and 400m.
Aley Aller placed 2nd in the 200m.
Natalie Wood placed 1st in the 800m with a PR.
Anaya Hope placed 6th in both the 100m hurdles and 300m hurdles.
Emily Cooley placed 1st in the high jump and 6th in the shot put.
Bailey Finn placed 4th in the long jump.
Kameryn Ketcham placed 3rd in the triple jump.
The girls 4x100m relay team (Emily Cooley, Aley Aller, Bailey Finn & Alyssa Boshart) placed 1st.
The girls 4x400m relay team (Aley Aller, Kameryn Ketcham, Natalie Wood & Alyssa Boshart) ran for the first time this season and placed 1st.

The Boys & Girls Golf teams played in the Huntley Project Invitational yesterday.
The boys team placed 7th.
The girls team placed 3rd with Abby Laverell placing inside the top 10 finishing 6th.
Way to go golfers!
The Boys and Girls Track teams had another great meet yesterday in Laurel!
Alyssa Boshart placed 1st in the 100m and 200m. She also placed 2nd in the long jump and has qualified for state in this event. Alyssa is now ranked 2nd in the state in the 100m.
Emily Cooley placed 2nd in the 100m, 1st in the long jump and 2nd in the shop put. She has now qualified for state in the 100m.
Aley Aller placed 4th in the 200m with a PR and 2nd in the 400m.
Natalie Wood placed 1st in the 3200m with a PR. She is now ranked 1st in the state in this event.
Kameryn Ketcham placed 2nd in the 800m and 2nd in the triple jump.

What a HUGE weekend it was for the Herders!
First, CONGRATULATIONS to the FFA teams who competed at State over the weekend.
The Livestock team and the Mechanics team both took home FIRST PLACE!
The Farm Business Management team placed 4th and the Sales team placed 7th. Big Timber FFA was also awarded 2nd place Sweepstakes Award for the best overall team!
Individually, we had several students place in the top 10 as well:
For Mechanics, Guildy Browning placed 1st, Jake Chulyak placed 2nd and Avery Durfee placed 9th.
For Livestock, David Paul Hathaway placed 2nd overall.
For Farm Business Managament, Jake Chulyak placed 6th and Colter Fleming placed 7th.
For Extemporaneous Speaking, Jake Chulyak placed 3rd overall.
Second, the Track team participated in their first meet of the season on Saturday at the Pre-Season Class B Meet in Lockwood.
The Girls team placed 1st with three athletes and the 4x100 relay team exceeding the pre-qualification standards for state.
Alyssa Boshart placed 1st in the 100m and 200m, qualifying for state in both events.
Kameryn Ketcham placed 2nd in the 800m, 4th in the triple jump with a PR, and also got a PR in the long jump.
Natalie Wood placed 2nd in the 1600m beating her previous PR by 10 seconds, and placed 2nd in the 3200m, pre-qualifying her for state in both events.
Emily Cooley placed 1st in the long jump, 2nd in the high jump and 3rd in the shot put. She pre-qualified for state in the long jump and high jump.
Ella Stosich placed 5th in the 800m and Anaya Hope placed 6th in the 100m hurdles.
The girls 4x100m relay team (Emily Cooley, Aley Aller, Bailey Finn and Alyssa Boshart) placed 1st and qualified for state.
Paige Whalin recorded PRs in the high jump, long jump and triple jump.
Paige Wertheimer placed 8th in the discus.
The Boys team placed 6th overall.
Gage McGillvray placed 4th in the 200m.
In the 300m hurdles, Colter Fleming placed 3rd with a PR and Caleb Stosich placed 5th.
Ty Cowell placed 6th in the shot put with a PR. He also placed 7th in the discus.
The boys 4x100m relay team (Sage Nation, Kuirt Gullings, Colter Fleming and Gage McGillvray) placed 3rd.
The boys 4x400m relay team (Colter Fleming, Zane Cox, Caleb Stosich and Gage McGillvray) placed 5th.
Kade Gardiner placed 8th in the discus.
In the Javelin, Sage Nation placed 8th and Kuirt Gullings placed 10th.
Kuirt Gullings also placed 9th in the long jump.
After the first week of track meets, the following Herder athletes have earned state rankings for all classes combined:
Alyssa Boshart is tied for 2nd in the 100m and holds a 2nd place ranking in the 200m.
Emily Cooley is tied for 4th in the high jump and holds a 3rd place ranking in the long jump.
Natalie Wood is ranked 2nd in the 1600m and 3rd in the 3200m.
The girls 4x100m relay team is ranked 2nd.
Next, the Boys & Girls Golf teams hosted their home meet on Saturday. Congratulations to Abby Laverell for placing in the top 10 for the girls and Seth Shepard for placing in the top 20 for the boys.
Lastly, the Softball team came home with a big 21-2 win over Lockwood on Saturday.

**The Home JV Golf Meet that was scheduled for Tuesday, April 5th has been rescheduled to Thursday, April 28th due to weather.
Freshman Orientation for all 8th grade students and their parents will be held on Tuesday, April 5th at 6:00PM in the High School Gym.
DON'T FORGET: for anyone interested in taking the First Aid/CPR class at the Ambulance barn on April 21st, all registrations must be to the High School by April 15th.
